If you're on the east coast of the United States, chances are you're in the middle of procuring all the necessary supplies to weather winter storm Jonas, which is expected to dump over a foot of snow onto the mid-Atlantic region this weekend. While this will mark the first major snowfall this winter in this part of the country, history is full of examples of crippling blizzards.
